Wine Water: O.Vine water sparks the memory of wine

Please introduce yourself and your startup Wine Water to our readers!
Anat Levi, CEO. Wine Water Ltd . I’m in the winery business in leading positions for almost 20 years, my passion is to create innovative, natural products that are also sustainable and help to keep a green environment. Wine Water combines two of the oldest beverages: wine and water into a completely new beverage that opens a new near water category.

How did you get the idea to Wine Water?
During my pervious job as Golan Heights Winery CEO, as part of our innovation and sustainable strategy we looked for a new growing ideas and projects. We seek for innovative solution to our pomas (grape skin and seeds, waste remaining after the winemaking process).

We approach a company named Practical Innovation and they came up with this specific beverage. We built a professional team of winemakers and food engineers to develop the product .

How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
It was more exciting than difficult, but in new product development it feels like roller-coaster. we had many challenges to overcome such as taste, color, long shelf-life of the beverage that contains natural ingredients. Since the products are natural and preservative-free, the biggest challenges were to keep it fresh and aromatic with a unique recollection of wine.

Who is your target audience?
For the first stage, we target restaurants and bars. So we target audience of “foodies” that enjoy food & wine, especially, millennials that looking for new age, healthy products with interested in health and wine. It can be, people who don’t drink wine, or people who are looking for an interesting unique, natural beverage with gentle sweetness.

What is the USP of your startup?
It is the first beverage of its kind, and the uniqueness of combing two distinctive worlds: Wine and Water, simple as that.

Our product uses grape skin and seeds from certified sustainable vineyards. These components are naturally full of antioxidants (polyphenols) that also exist in wine, and are a big part of the health benefits attributed to wine. Our product is not just tasty, but also it naturally contains these components.

Can you describe a typical workday of you?
When you are working in food-tech startup, everyone is doing everything, you can find yourself bottling or cleaning bottles, investigating what are FDA rules concerning the product, talking to regulation attorney or making sure we are on budget and on time, and the same time, sitting to write answers to you…

Where do you see yourself and your startup Wine Water in five years?
