Hey, my name is Alexander Stoica-Marcu, College drop-out, Forbes 30 under 30 alumni, Thiel Fellowship finalist, JAEC Grand Champion, Top 30 under 30 Stupreneur from Europe, my main specialties are: innovation, business development and sales. I am working full-time on business development and sales at Product Lead.
Consumers trust UGC much more than brand-owned content. The technology of AdBlocking is growing massively. This means that brands can longer distribute their content into online properties. Influencer marketing provides both content and distribution solutions, solving key advertising issues, such as trustiness and the global increase of adblockers.
Product Lead enables brands and influencers to collect, curate, activate, distribute and measure social content. It’s a tool that empowers influencers and brands to generate sales from visual content. We transform social images into shoppable images and we provide the tools for building the next generation of ecommerce experience. We simply do visual commerce + influencer marketing.
How did you get the idea to Product Lead?
The idea originated after four years working with fashion and beauty projects where we worked with influencers and brands that needed influencers. We’ve started to implement to our clients, where we’ve gained a lot of feedback and a lot of requests. We’ve seen that it generate a lot of value for our clients and it is a very sexy visual product. From that moment we started to look to more clients and influencers and since then, we are working with over 210 brands on affiliate marketing, with 30 plus brands with the technology itself.
How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
We’ve generated interest from our clients to our vision so we started to work on it. When we started this project, the most difficult part was to generate exposure, but we overcome this by building a relationship with the journalist and explain them that Visual Ecommerce is the future of ecommerce.
Who is your target audience?
We are targeting influencers, brands that have online presence and digital agencies.
What is the USP of your startup?
Our USP to influencers is that we are giving them the chance to monetize their content trough affiliate marketing automatically with NO stress and technical knowledge. To brands is that we are using content from social media ( own content or UGC ) in order to improve their sales process on their shop OR to improve brand-awareness.
Can you describe a typical workday of you?
A typical work-day for me ( 12-16 hours ) – responding to e-mails in the first part of the day, getting into business meetings in the second part of day, in the third part of the day – updating our sales crm, doing business development and schedule e-mails for the next day.
Where do you see yourself and your startup Product Lead in five years?
Our vision with Product Lead is to seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence and affiliate marketing to semantically analyse the image and auto-tagging with meaningful products and context. We definitely want to be large player into the influencer/ecommerce/affiliate market and bring a lot of value for small and big clients/influencers

Focus on sales&business development. Have a strong relation with your team. Embrace the technology.
