Valentin Radu – I am a serial entrepreneur and visionary involved in tech and digital marketing for the past 12 years. Married with two children, I am an international speaker & founder of Omniconvert, a worldwide awarded conversion optimization platform, the author of an eCommerce Growth Course and the Founder of International eCommerce Day Conference, Ecommday.

Omniconvert is a conversion optimization tool that integrates A/B testing, Real-time personalization, advanced audience segmentation and visitors surveys. The innovation lays in the complexity and large scale of capabilities, offering marketers and website owners a complete solution to adapt the content and visitor experience on their sites in real time to the ever changing behavior of their users.

How did you get the idea to Omniconvert?
It all started back in 2011 when I worked as a CMO of the leading website for selling car insurance policies. At that time, I struggled to understand what was making 98% of the website’s traffic not converting into paying customers.

In August 2013, Marketizator was born, and the road ahead was looking bright. With a team of four people, I started to build the world’s first integrated conversion rate optimization platform. After many ups and downs, in October 2016, Marketizator converted into Omniconvert – the complete conversion optimization tool.

How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
We were being hosted by an advertising agency in the corner of their office, at a desk. Even though this was my 4th company, it was the worst experience. But it has also been the first company that addressed the global market.

We’ve had a ton of challenges.
From internal fights with my partners, a motivated team without talent and know-how, lack of experience on a SaaS company design, shady strategy, etc.

One hard thing was regarding a former manager that wasn’t prepared for the role and abused my confidence and approach to empower & give total freedom to my trusted colleagues.

Another big challenge was regarding the state authorities that instead of supporting us, they stopped us from issuing VAT due to a new regulation and a bug in their system. That has miraculously got solved by my facebook complain to the Ministry of Finance.
A most recent one was regarding activating too many projects & channels at the same time.

But, all in all, we substituted our sleep for enthusiasm and passion for building something beneficial for the whole world. The rest is history!

Who is your target audience?
Client-side or agency digital marketers looking to increase their digital performance. Most of our customers are eCommerce, SaaS & lead generation websites.

What is the USP of your startup?
Stop leaving money on the table with the power of our integrated conversion rate optimization solution. We empower marketers to experiment faster, through the power of A/B Testing, Surveys and Personalization.

As technology is evolving, Omniconvert is as well. The highly skilled development team is currently working on launching an Artificial Intelligence Product, meant to link visitors with suitable products based on 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data.

That being said, our mission is to become the first AI Marketing Growth Platform in the world.

Can you describe a typical workday of you?
A typical day starts with my ritual to disconnect from the crazy rhythm I am living every day. If I can watch the sunrise, that’s even better.
After that I am fighting with the kids to wake, we are playing different games in the car during 40 minutes of commuting, and then I get to the office.

I plan my day, deciding what is the most important thing the business needs from me today, after that, I try to attend the daily scrum meetings in the marketing and dev teams.

After the first part of the day, I try to have a break no matter how hard it is.
I end the day by reading and doing less important tasks or meetings.
Then, I reconnect with my wife and the kids, trying to clean my system from KPIs, strategies and anything related to “growth”

Where do you see yourself and your startup Omniconvert in five years?
We are on our path to deliver the best AI-powered marketing growth platform for midsize companies. With the revenue we will generate, we will support the growth of an incredible education system in Romania – a better and more impactful dream to chase

What 3 tips would you give other Start-up founders on the way?
Stop now if your company doesn’t have an incredible point of view about how to make the world a better place. If your company would be a person, would repeat other people’s opinions, would direct the attention of the others toward stupid stuff (like Candy Crush) or would it come up with a fresh & outstanding point of view to challenge and support life?

Focus on your team’s values & culture, rather than tactics, metrics, growth, strategy. Opportunities can come and go, but values are forever.

Cherish the other aspects of your life. The profession is just a part of your life. If you become addicted to your work, not only that you will waste precious gifts that life has to give, but you will also not perform at your maximum potential. The business plan is part of a life plan, not vice-versa.
