Please introduce yourself and your startup LingerTech to our readers!
LingerTech is a new age tech-driven property management system (PMS), we are committed to take the Hotel Industry out of COVID chaos and make it fit and healthy for the 21st Century by helping hotel units of all size and capacity take their operations digital.
How did you get the idea of LingerTech?
Initially we were making this software for our own use, in our upcoming experiential hotel chain. We have The Ayali Hotel Group and we had developed a technology as our own Hotel Operating System. This is a technology that enables our group of hotels to manage front-office capabilities, such as booking reservations, guest check-in/checkout, room assignment, managing room rates, and billing through a single ditial gateway.
Why did you decide to start with LingerTech?
We soon realized that our technology could solve property-managing issues for so many hotels who can’t afford the available hotel management systems in the market. So we decided to make this available to hotels at an affordable price.
What is the vision behind LingerTech?
LingerTech is the vision of two tech-driven minds, obsessed with finding cutting edge technology solutions to solve problems. Hospitality is a passion with the co-founders who come with the legacy of a long & successful career in Travel & Tourism space with leading brands in the business. They are recognized for scaling up revenue streams along with accelerating growth and profitability,
Sandeep Kumar has worked with leading hospitality brands for 18 years including senior management roles with Yatra.com, Shiv Vilas Resorts, fastbooking.com before he quit high profile jobs to start his jouney as an entrepreneur. Rahul Nigam has International Business experience of over 18 years in handling operation of hotels, in-bound tours, B2B and B2C in hospitability industry. He has worked with leading brands like Taj Mahal Hotel, Thomas Cook, Hotelbeds, Agoda etc.
How difficult was the start and which challenges you had to overcome?
Making such complex system within a year against many odds was the biggest challenge we faced. Having been in the hospitality and travel business for many years we had full idea about the market gap but driving tech with like-minded tech folks was complex and launching during COVID times was definitely stressful.
Who is your target audience?
Our package will help small and medium hotels to adopt technology easily and seamlessly.
What is the USP of your startup?
This will enable budget hospitality groups to have a single system which will enable them to manage their day to day hotel operation
Can you describe your typical workday?
A startup founder does not have a typical work-day. We are working all the time. We multi-task, handling Technology Development, Business Plan, Client Servicing, Marketing, Financials and the team. And we can end up spending about 18 hours a day working on our startup for the first few years of our business’s existence.
Where do you see yourself and your startup LingerTech in five years?
We are working towards making this product available for all categories of properties and prepare them for the future. We are aiming at getting at-least 30% market share in next three years. Travel & Hospitality is hit badly by the pandemic and digitisation will save the industry.
What 3 tips would you give to founders?
Be self-confident but humble.
Be proud of what you build, but know that there will never be perfection
There will always be risk. Don’t fear it. Learn to mitigate it
