Holo-Light creating Mixed Reality end-user applications
Please introduce yourself and your startup Holo-Light to our readers!
I’m Florian Haspinger, CEO and co-founder of Holo-Light, a Mixed Reality software development company focusing on industry solutions on head-mounted displays. We are located in Munich and already the leading provider of industry solutions in Europe.
How did you get the idea to Holo-Light?
In 2015 we heard about Microsoft HoloLens and at the same time we had the idea to found our own company. We were enthusiastic about this technology and that’s why we simply gave it a try.
How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
The biggest challenge was to get a HoloLens as the device was only available in the US & Canada for the first 6 months. In order to get a market advantage we tried and managed to get one. We were able to build up a network, joined the Tech-Accelerator TechFounders in Munich and developed the first pilots.
Who is your target audience?
We are focusing on industry solutions. Our target group includes OEMs, suppliers, service providers and more specific, engineers, technicians or sales people.
What is the USP of your startup?
We differentiate ourselves by focusing only on Mixed Reality and head-mounted displays, offering high quality solutions, expertise in development and industry processes and a close relationship to our customers. Our customized software is developed for end-users ready to be used in the industry.
Can you describe a typical workday of you?
I usually have a few calls in the morning before going to the office, followed by meetings and skype sessions with customers and partners during the day. As I’m travelling a lot, the only thing, which remains the same everyday is my phone ringing.
Where do you see yourself and your startup Holo-Light in five years?
In 5 years Holo-Light will be the best Mixed Reality software development company for industry solutions worldwide and hopefully also a leading company when it comes to technological innovation.
What 3 tips would you give other Start-up founders on the way?
Don’t do it alone, try to find the right people already at an early stage.
Combine different competencies. Motivation is number one so give a chance to motivated people, even if they still have to learn a lot of things.
