Faer: Discover the best of fair and sustainable fashion from all the around the world

Please introduce yourself and your startup Faer to our readers!
My co-founder Pedro Silva and I founded Faer in early 2017 and were joined by a lovely bunch of people in the heart of Berlin.

How did you get the idea to Faer?
We have a technology background and got into fashion by working with retailers all around the globe. This made us understand how fashion is manufactured and distributed today, which was quite disillusioning. We would like to leverage technology to simplify shopping for fashion made in a sustainable and people-friendly way.

How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
The biggest challenge was to build an AI-system capable of understanding fashion like a human would.

Who is your target audience?
Everybody who doesn’t like to run around naked all the time.

What is the USP of your startup?
Our team

Can you describe a typical workday of you?
For better or worse, we don’t have typical workdays. Since we are a small team everybody gets to work on many different topics. One moment you could be writing code, the other moment you are supporting users on Instagram.

Where do you see yourself and your startup Faer in five years?
Our goal is to become the first app you turn to when buying a new piece of clothing.

What 3 tips would you give other Start-up founders on the way?
Be nice. Give first. Keep trying.
