EnduroSat: We provide easy access to space for visionary and entrepreneurs

Please introduce yourself and your startup EnduroSat to our readers!

My name is Raycho Raychev – Founder and CEO of EnduroSat.

How did you get the idea of EnduroSat?

I have always admired the human exploration spirit. Reaching space has been a personal goal of mine for a long time, so I decided to do my best and contribute for the development of an accessible space program. Looking at the current space industry, it is still extremely difficult and expensive to actively participate. It is an elite club of organizations and countries and this creates a massive barrier for greater innovation. EnduroSat was created with the goal to enable thousands of people to play active role in space.

By simplifying satellite technology, making it accessible and enabling shared missions in Low earth orbit, we aim to empower SMEs, universities and individuals to become active players in exploration and commercialization of space. Imagine having access to space for your own payload at a fraction of the current cost and complexity. Then imagine thousands of new concepts, experiments and commercial ideas been actively tested in space onboard shared satellites.

Why did you decide to start with EnduroSat?

I wanted to contribute for the development of sustainable global space community and help create next generation space infrastructure.

What is the vision behind EnduroSat?

endurosat

To empower humans to connect and progress through space technology.

How difficult was the start and which challenges you had to overcome?

It has been extremely hard to create and grow space start-up in CEE region. There were so many obstacles and challenges along the way simply because there is hardly any space industry in the region, so we had to build it by ourselves from scratch. On the plus side, we’ve managed to develop strong engineering and science community locally and now we have the major ingredients for growth – human resource and capital.

Who is your target audience?

Space companies, SMEs, universities and individuals who want to participate in the exploration of space as active players.

What is the USP of your startup?

We believe thatuniversal access to space will significantly improve human life. Therefore, every single step that we do as a company should be made in this direction. The Shared Satellite Service, based on our unique NanoSats, enables continuous improvement in space operations at a fraction of the cost. We provide easy access to space for visionary entrepreneurs, scientists and technologist, helping them drive innovation at the final frontier.

Can you describe your typical workday ?

Quite busy – few short morning meetings on technology, business and mission-level and then hands-on work with the team on accomplishing all near-term tasks. In the late evening, I usually spend my time between external meetings and work on our overall strategy.

Where do you see yourself and your startup Endurosat in five years?

I wish that we would be able to get significantly more commercial, science and tech payloads in space than most of the traditional space agencies. I hope that thousands of people on the ground will benefit from the data that our Shared Satellite Service will generate in space.

What 3 tips would you give to founders?

Be persistent, work hard without excuses and make sure that you really trust your team.
