We’re a fast-moving and disruptive Internet of Things startup based in Barcelona, dedicated to designing, developing and producing awesome physical marketing products designed to help businesses extend their online and offline communities.

How did you get the idea to Clex?
In September 2013, Alex Ardevol, Founder and CEO at Clex, Inc., wonders why so many businesses have such a large gap between their online and offline communities. At the same time, businesses weren’t showing off their social media reputations. In our interconnected world, something was missing. From these questions, Clex concept is born. Alex assembles a team of passionate, creative people — and extends its presence to Barcelona, San Francisco and Shenzhen (China).

How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
At the beginning of 2016, Clex, Inc., sets up an expat technical team in China and partners with key manufacturers in Shenzhen (Guandong) to build a reliable and scalable production infrastructure for its flagship product Clex ONE. It was the biggest challenge to find appropiate production plant and to close deals with distributors and resellers overseas. We wanted to have an affordable price without sacrificing quality and it seemed mission impossible at first. But we did it!

Who is your target audience?
Our target audience are small businesses, cafes, restaurants, bars, marketing agencies and big companies. Every business that uses social media can benefit from Clex!

What is the USP of your startup?
Bridging the gap between the digital and physical world with awesome products.

Can you describe a typical workday of you?
We meet in our small office around 9:00 a.m. and proceed with our sales campaigns, key account management, marketing activities and the monitoring of our production. We are a small team of 5 people and feel like a small family.

Where do you see yourself and your startup Clex in five years?
As a leader of the market in Europe of course!

What 3 tips would you give other Start-up founders on the way?
1. You are never ready, do it now!
2. You do not have to do everything by yourself, find a brilliant team and learn to delegate responsibilities!
3. Sometimes everything seems to be wrong. Be patient and work towards your goals. It will pass!
