BigBooster Teams Up With Key Innovative Players in The Boston Area, Starting With MassChallenge
BigBooster, the first non-profit international acceleration program, and MassChallenge, the most startup-friendly accelerator on the planet, are very pleased to announce the renewal of their partnership for BigBooster’s second season.
Boston and Lyon, two very similar worldwide innovation hubs, are two strategic and essential stops during BigBooster, a global and high-level acceleration program. Key players within these two ecosystems such as Lyon Métropole, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, City of Boston, MassChallenge, CapGemini, Sanofi, and Schneider provide strong support and highly contribute to the success of this unique concept.
BigBooster is currently calling for applications from Biotech & Health, Global Impact, and Informative Tech startups located in Europe, Middle East, and Africa. One hundred will make the cut and will be invited to the Lyon Booster Camp in November 2016. There is one guiding goal: crash-test their project, fine-tune their story, and train them to deliver the perfect winning pitch!
Following this first round, twenty of them will take off to the Boston booster camp on February 2017 and will scale up and market test their projects for the USA. Hosted by MassChallenge and with direct access to the Boston ecosystem, this second step will include sessions on global US business understanding and some dedicated to specific sectors (i.e. life sciences, digital, robotics). MassChallenge will organize bespoke mentorship sessions with industry coaches and experts. After a pitch competition judged by a MassChallenge jury, ten finalists will reach the final round. The BigBooster Final Top 3 selections will take place in Lyon on April 2017.
For Didier Hoch, Chairman of BigBooster, “We and MassChallenge are cut from the same cloth: friendly, non-for-profit, doing everything we can to help our startups take the leap and go global. We know that once again, this is going to be a game-changing experience for our startups!”
Mike LaRhette, President of MassChallenge said, “We work with the most innovative and creative startups in the world to help them maximize their impact, and we’re excited to help the top European, Middle Eastern and African startups enter the US market with a bang. We’re pleased to continue this work with our fantastic partner, BigBooster, and to build on our past successes.”
