Please introduce yourself and the Startup Snykz to our readers!

Hi, my name is Sebastian and I am the founder of Snykz. SNYKZ is building a social finance app for generation Z to help them achieve a better credit score and deal with everyday money transactions. Because no one cares about this generation and makes it hard to teach them about money. A lost generation you might say. Together, Snykz users can connect with each other, create money challenges, save together and thus earn points that can be exchanged for rewards. Snykz will offer all banking functions, like checking account, card, etc. 

Why did you decide to start a business?

My goal was always to change the entire banking industry and have a good impact on the next generation.

What is the vision behind Snykz?

Generation Z is gradually growing up and is now at the age to legally open a bank account and the change is slowly beginning that this generation no longer wants to be with a classic bank which leads to bad inventions and has no advantage for them. 

Besides, banks are not really interested in this generation. Also, we have learned that this generation is bored with the new smartphone banks that have brought traditional banking to the smartphone with no added value.

From the idea to the start what have been the biggest challenges so far and how did you finance yourself?

Everything, there are so many challenges as a CEO of a fintech company. You have to take care of marketing, technical, sales, investor and so on. But you will improve yourself day by day. Right now, we are self-funded but we are already a part of a great accelerator (newchip) program. A few investors are already interested in us.

Who is the target group of Snykz?

We are focusing on Generation Z in the U.S.

How does Snykz work? What are the advantages? What makes you different from other providers?

We are re-thinking banking completely. We want to make banking social, and this is our biggest USP. Connect with other users. Make new connections. Save together with friends. Challenge each other and win rewards. Learn how to spend money. And a lot of more great features

How has your company changed with Corona?

We have only recently started, so it was not a problem for us.

How did you adjust to it and what changes have you made?

Right now we are completely remote. At a later stage, we want to offer an in-house working space.

Where do you see the opportunity in the crisis?

Get the best talents without relocating.

Snykz, where does the road go? Where do you see yourself in five years?

In 5 years, we want to be one of the largest “banks” for gen z.
