I am Claudio de Giovanni, the founder and CEO of Watchr, bringing my years of experience as an Managing Director and CEO to the table alongside of my formal qualifications in the fields of finance and international commerce.
Holder of both a Master of Science and a CEMS in International Management from the London School of Economics, I has also studied at other prestigious international colleges such as Escade and Bocconi.

How did you get the idea to Watchr?
I get the idea to Watchr when one day I wanted to buy a second-hand luxury watch and I encountered difficulties to do it. Indeed I was afraid to get ripped off, not to find the best value for money. And then I thought that it would be great if I could use some help and expertise to find me the best watch for me and at the best price. That is why I set up this marketplace called Watchr.

How difficult was the start and what challenges you had to overcome?
The most important difficulty that I had to overcome is to reach the confidence of customers. Indeed, as we are a marketplace and work only online, it is then not easy to gain the trust of customers as people can’t see the watches for real for example. Besides, the transaction involves a large sum of money which makes even more difficult to increase the confidence of our customers.

Can you describe a typical workday of you?
My typical workday is very classic. I wake up early, and then the first thing that I do is to read my emails to keep informed of the latest news concerning my company. Then, at the company I lead team meetings to see at which stages my employees are in their work. Besides I reply to my emails, to calls at the same time that advancing my work. In the middle of the day I do some sports as I think that it is very important to take time to relax. At the end of the day I thinking of next steps for my company and what I have to do for the next day.

Where do you see yourself and your startup Watchr in five years?
In five years, it would be great if my company is known all over the world. I hope that my company will make a place in the world of the watch and that everybody think to use my service as soon as they need to sell or buy a watch. It would be a great pride for me to bring Watchr to the top and to overcome all the hardships
